Tom & Diana

Tom Meccariello

Home Inspector serving the Hudson Valley Area of New York

Hi, my name is Tom Meccariello, and I am the Licensed Home Inspector that will be providing your inspections. Please allow me to tell you why you should trust my company to inspect your home or commercial property.​

​Licensed Home Inspector

  • Licensed in New York State since 2018, certified through New York's Home Inspection Course of Long Island.

  • Successfully completed over 140 hours of approved home inspection education and passed more than 20 specialized exams specific to New York State's inspection standards.

Licensed Mold Assessor

  • As of 2024, licensed by the New York State Department of Labor after completing a 24-hour NYSDOL-approved mold assessment course. This training covered mold identification, health hazards, proper assessment protocols, and remediation strategies.

  • Passed all state-required exams and assessments, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of mold-related regulations and safety procedures.

  • ​Achieved a perfect score (100%) on the state-required exam, demonstrating thorough knowledge of mold identification, safety protocols, and assessment techniques.

Mechanical Engineer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE) from Stony Brook University.

  • Extensive experience as a Service Engineer, including Service Department Management for a global leader in industrial manufacturing.

  • Proficient in CAD engineering, with experience designing HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for both residential and commercial applications.

Certifications & Memberships

  • Member of The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI).

  • Strict adherence to New York State Standards of Practice.

  • Total Home Inspectors, LLC is an Orange County Chamber of Commerce Member.

Continuing Education 

  • Committed to professional development, fulfilling 24 hours of continuing education annually.

Hey! My name is Diana Meccariello, and I'm the Marketing Director of Total Home Inspectors.
I'm also a proud Stony Brook University alumna, with a background in sociology, psychology, and social media marketing. My husband, Tom, and I started Total Home Inspectors in 2018, combining our passion for real estate and entrepreneurship.

Here’s a little more about what I do:

  • On-site at Every Inspection and Assessment: I am present during all inspections and mold assessments, working alongside Tom. I ensure the client is happy, and I handle the payment process and customer agreements while capturing marketing materials for our platforms.

  • Report Review & Quality Control: I review and go over every inspection and assessment report with Tom, ensuring I am aware of every detail that is shared with each client. Tom and I work together to create detailed, well-organized reports that provide clients with the thorough insights they need.

  • Marketing Experience: I have 6 years of experience creating content, building websites, and managing social media for various accounts across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.

  • Customized Marketing Content: I produce personalized videos and photos of Tom during inspections and assessments, sharing our story and expertise. These are featured on social media and our website, offering a glimpse behind the scenes of our work.

  • ​Client Communication: With my background in human behavior and communication, I enjoy supporting clients through the home buying process, making sure they feel confident and informed throughout their experience.

  • Social Media Management: IIn addition to managing marketing for Total Home Inspectors, I also handle the social media presence for our clients at THI Marketing Services, a company Tom and I co-own. We provide tailored strategies to enhance their brand visibility on platforms like Instagram and more.
